4: Buying Christmas Gifts for a Group
Christmas is only five days away and in all my wisdom, I haven't started any of my Christmas shopping. I've always been indecisive when it comes to buying gifts. I never know whether my friends will like what I've chosen.
I'm known to be particularly bad at picking gifts. One time, without realising it, I chose a gift that offended my friend, leading to a squabble about my poor choices.
A couple of years ago, I went to the mall before my best friend's birthday. There was the largest wind storm that my town had ever experienced. I had to clutch my gift for my best friend as if my life depended on it because it was the only time I felt like I found the perfect gift... I don't think she liked it very much though.
This year, we're celebrating Christmas up in the Three-Legged Lake Mountain and I'm going to dazzle my friends with the best gifts ever.
On top of that, I will have the biggest tree in the world, towering over everyone else's. I'll have the best gifts and the biggest tree. There's no better pairing than that.
Sigh... I never really understood how to buy people gifts because I didn't really get anything as a child. I was an only child and I was always making mischief whenever and wherever I could, so I ended up on Santa's naughty list year after year.
I thought I was clever. I thought I could outsmart Santa by waiting underneath my neighbour's chimney and wait for Santa's descent. I tried this four years in a row without any success until my neighbours caught me and ever since then, I tried my best to get off the naughty list.
