Solution to 2: The Cards

    The piece of paper on the floor looks like a record of a card game. There are several hints indicating that the game is euchre: there are four players and five tricks; only cards between 9 and A are used; the 5s used to keep score are subtly displayed in the photo; and on the table is a bottom of rum, the perfect accompaniment to a relaxing night of euchre.

    

    From the rule that one must always follow suit, it is possible to determine that the trump suit is spades. You can then figure out which player wins each of the five tricks: S, E, N, S, and finally E.
