Solution to #1: The Lecture

The subject matter of this video relates to modes of communication, including ciphers, so it is a good place to start looking for clues. In particular, the Codes and Ciphers "slide" of the presentation includes several likely strategies and draws attention to itself with the conspicuously drawn and erased radio tower.
Morse code can be used along with the video's inconsistent use of underlines, dashes, and periods. From the first slide to the last this spells out "BAIRDJULY3" which corresponds to John Logie Baird's demonstration of the first colour television signal transmission.
You may notice two other colour related clues in the puzzle: text appears in differently coloured marker, and a TV test screen appears just perceptibly at the end of the video. If you arrange the text according to its colour in the order presented in the test screen, and then use morse code again, you will spell the answer to this puzzle: "nipkow", a disk similar to the one in the meta.
