Now that you are totally over the shock of being kidnapped, you are in your favourite nearby coffee-shop, sipping on your favourite drink. It's time to stop Horatio... if you can figure out how. You have no solid evidence against him, and who will take your word over the word of a widely respected, tenured professor?

Luckily, you took a souvenir from his office. Perhaps the laptop will help you find Haultain's treasure before Horatio... And if you do that, then Horatio will have no cause to do the unspeakable.

You go through his laptop and find the following:

Horatio's desktop background is a picture of a lengthy handwritten message from Haultain's notebook. The message begins with:

It looks like Horatio was so stumped and frustrated with this message, and decided that staring at it all day might help him figure out what it means. This must be the final piece of the puzzle.
